The impact of flooding in Thailand

15th Oct 11

A message from our Founder

We are Ok and thankfully dry in Northern Thailand. This year is a horrible one for floods. Every where there has been flooding; even the night bazaar in the city was submerged under water. At the park our strong river wall saved us and kept us safe this year.

So much damage has been done to our forests with trees cut down and burned. Today mother-earth takes back, so it is hard to complain about the consequences.

I just came back from the trip where we rescued animals in the flood area. So many pet left behind to die; thousands of dogs and cats suffering sickness and starvation had been abandoned as rescue services could not take them. It is really terrible.

The government focuses on human rescue, so many animals have left behind. I saw thousands of pigs floating in the flood water. This trip made me so sick to see the dogs, cats, cows, buffalo and others dead.

I thank the efforts of our kind and generous volunteers and supporters for helping fund whatever rescue attempts we could manage.
