# 15 To watch the elephant return to the
safety and love of the herd

Some elephants come to the Park not as permanent members of
our herd, but only as temporary guests. We do so in the hope
that we can purchase them from their owners so that they never
have to leave, but in some cases, we are not successful. This is
the reason why all of our staff and guests are happy every time
we succeed in permanent freeing of a new elephant. The latest
good news we have is the returning home of Sao Yai to the park a
short while ago.
