Not only do the elephants trust Darrick but likewise, he trusts the elephants. A special relationship between Darrick & the elephants is one built upon mutual love & trust.

Khamla’s Herd are Proud to Present SkyWalk at Elephant Nature Park

Today we see Khamla and her very tight knit herd, majestically walking through the SkyWalk Project. The herd are proudly showing us views of the meadow area where Khamla and her gentle giant friends, enjoy their daytime foraging.

Elephant of the Week 21 August 2023: Khamla

Khamla is the beating heart of the largest family group at Elephant Nature Park. There are 9 elephants who foster her care and well-being, with a mother Mae Baitoey and 2 Nannies, always doting on her. She is a most fortunate young lady to have been rescued at the age of 4 and brought under the care of Save Elephant Foundation. Much has changed since her arrival in 2015 and to see her thrive inside such a wonderfully committed family group has been nothing short of inspiring.

Sunlight penetrates the clouds above, and a buoyant nature overwhelms these playful three - Chana, Ploythong, and Saithong rush to the river for a great time ! Kabu stood by, waiting on the bank, thoughtful of her friends, but content to merely wade in somewhat, drink to her limit, and enjoy the sounds of the ones whom she cares for immeasurably.
