Ponsawan, the landmine victim with severe emotional issues from her injuries, has enjoyed many life-changing moments since Elephant Nature Park was able to rescue her in June 2014.

Her injuries were managed over the course of 2 years at the Elephant Conservation Hospital. Her freedom at the Elephant Nature Park helped her out from the nightmare and her new family helped her heal her feelings. She is the number one nanny of baby Yindee and enjoys the company of her other herd mates.

Love has helped her to heal and now she is happy, she heals other elephants at Elephant Nature Park sactuary too.

When she arrived at the park, she embraced her new family immediately. Not only is she the adoptive mother of DokNgern, she is also the aunty of Chang Yim, FaaMai, DokMai, and DokRak. And when Bunma and her baby Chaba first arrived she quickly moved to assist caring for Chaba.

She loves the deep water, and anticipates the water level rise after every rain storm at Elephant Nature Park. Mintra is more timid, and checks with her friend if it’s ok to go swimming.

Rescued Elephants MoLoh and LekLek update by our founder Lek

After a recent post about the difficulties of 2 newly rescued elephants settling into Elephant Nature Park, our founder Lek Chailert today made this observation: LekLek and her mother, MoLoh, have been in the Park for some time now. It seemed likely that they would be absorbed beautifully into FaaMai’s family group.
