Bua Keaw, the new rescue elephant is ready to take a journey to Elephant Nature Park
We are preparing the truck for a transfer of the beautiful Bua Keaw from her current life of carrying tourists day in and day out to a better life of rest and care in the Park. Bua Keaw is over 70 years old and worthy as all for an end to her labors. Her left eye is blind and the other sees not so well. She has a few abscesses and is generally slow moving. We will help her as we can to recover from her long years of service to the human. She served 18 years under her current owner. Ten years ago she lost a baby at birth to unknown circumstances, but likely due to age. Prior to that she worked many years as a logging elephant in the Lampang region. The search will continue for other stories from her past. Her journey will start later tonight. Paperwork is in place and microchip numbers match all records. The truck is ready with blanket-rolled supports, soft non-slip padding underfoot, shading from sun and against a cool night. Water tank ready and secure. We will keep update and can’t wait to welcome her to the forever home.
