Today is wonderful baby elephant Dokmai’s 2nd Birthday. Thank you to Mae Dok Ngern, her mother who brought us a wonderful baby elephant on 6th April 2013. Happy Birthday our “Queen of the flowers”. May you a beautiful long life and wishing you all the happiness. We promise, we will try the best for you to brighten up your living at our sanctuary. Big hugs and trunk kisses !!!

Elephant of the week 24 September 2023: Super Nanny Srinuan

When she arrived at the park, she embraced her new family immediately. Not only is she the adoptive mother of DokNgern, she is also the aunty of Chang Yim, FaaMai, DokMai, and DokRak. And when Bunma and her baby Chaba first arrived she quickly moved to assist caring for Chaba.

Fascinating Elephant Communication at Elephant Nature Park

The herd of Buathong, DokMai, ThongJan, and Dokngern enjoyed a mud bath after the rain today, relishing the effects of mud on their skin. Mud therapy is a source of great pleasure for elephants and the mud at Elephant Nature Park is apparently pretty good.

Rescued Elephants MoLoh and LekLek update by our founder Lek

After a recent post about the difficulties of 2 newly rescued elephants settling into Elephant Nature Park, our founder Lek Chailert today made this observation: LekLek and her mother, MoLoh, have been in the Park for some time now. It seemed likely that they would be absorbed beautifully into FaaMai’s family group.

Could a baby elephant bring her rejected mother into the herd?

Earlier this year, baby elephant LekLek and mother MohLoh were rescued from the Omkoi District of Chiang Mai by Save Elephant Foundation. On arrival at Elephant Nature Park, they were introduced to FaaMai's family but three months have passed and acceptance is not complete.
