KhunDej, victim of a snare in the Wild, now knows a place of peace
KhunDej is a young male elephant, born in central Thailand around 2010. He was rescued to Elephant Nature Park in 2014 where he immediately started treatment for a serious injury to his leg.
KhunDej was found wandering in a forest, suffering from a seriously infected leg. The injury was caused by a snare trap, that people had set within the forest to catch animals to eat or sell.
Now as a young bull, he enjoys quality time in a purpose built facility to provide bull elephants the space they need, including a swimming pool where KhunDej rightfully enjoys relaxing and cooling off after long days in the hot sun.
