For us, every day is animal day as we dedicate our efforts to rescuing and providing the best care for animals. We have helped various animal species, including elephants, dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, buffaloes, goats, and more. Currently, we have more than five thousand animals under our care. We work tirelessly to bring about positive changes and improve the lives of any animal in need.
Enrichments for elephants here at Elephant Nature Park, have always been high priority and as conservationists, we are always aware of natural environments and habitats for elephants in our care.
Witness the transformation for yourself in the heartwarming video below. We’re delighted to see MhoJae basking in the joy of her new life in the sanctuary of Elephant Nature Park, surrounded by love, support, and the companionship she deserves.
Maliwan’s former life was one of neglect and abuse. Even her trunk had been slashed with a knife. She never knew kindness or even companionship. Since being rescued by Save Elephant Foundation and welcomed into the sanctuary of Elephant Nature Park, her life has totally changed. Maliwan loves the freedom of the park and especially the river! In the rainy season, the swollen Mae Taeng river is a source of great joy for Maliwan and she plays with reckless abandon while her friends patiently await for her on the pebbled shore.
We compiled highlight footage showcasing the two-year transformation of baby elephant Chaba after being brought to Elephant Nature Park. This clip vividly demonstrates the stark contrast in her health and condition before being rescued by Save Elephant Foundation and then her current health condition living in the sanctuary of Elephant Nature Park. We hope that elephant sanctuaries someday become a self-evident practice in the care and conservation of captive Asian elephants.
During a period of quarantine to adapt to their new environment, Mho Jae had the privilege of receiving an unrelenting visitor named SookSai, who sought the esteemed role of being nanny to the little boy, Sa Ngae. This is the first time that all three of them were able to be together outside of the quarantine area and were able to roam freely in a spacious area. Happy now to explore their surroundings, the three are building the bonds of trust and enjoying time well-spent together, especially when rolling in the mud pit during a heavy rain.
Elephants at Elephant Nature Park are free to roam the valley and mountains around the huge park area. But what happens when a herd of cows stands in the way a an elephant day trip across the river? Normally, they will coexist peacefully, but today the herd of cows blocks their path to the forest. In this delicate situation, let’s see what they will do.
Chana, the youngest member of this family, is incredibly clever. She has a keen sense for the routines at Elephant Nature Park and instinctively predicts when the caretaker intends to take them to the river. Instead of waiting for her mahout’s call, she takes matters into her own hands. Chana opens the gate to their lunchtime feeding area by herself and leads her friends to the bathing area after they have finished lunch.
In this video, we learn from Kanyakorn Kansumaso, the previous registered owner of Sopa, that Sopha used in the logging trade by a previous owner until she was 76 year old. Khun Kanyakorn speaks about the difficulties she had caring for Sopa, who she employed for 6 years at an Elephant Riding attraction near Pattaya in South East Thailand.
Kamu is about forty years old. She was a logging elephant for many years and then moved to the riding…
Newly rescued FahMui is slowly realising the freedom and making friends in the sanctuary of Elephant Nature Park. From our founder, Lek Chailert: FahMui is friendly enough and still looking to find new friends. So far, she has a kinship with Kanjana, and they while away the day eating in the shade of a giant tree.
We know that some of you don’t have a full day to spend at Elephant Nature Park. How do we…
