Witness the heartwarming interaction between big adopted sister FaaMai and the adorable babies PyiMai and ChaBa.
Listen to the adorable squeaks of excitement when FaaMai visits baby PyiMai’s herd!
Let’s join in the beauty of these shared experiences with FaaMai, her two little sisters, and their sweet nanny, Dmax.
Today we witness a very touching scene at the mud mound, as Bunma repeatedly rolls her body over the now compacted mud mound and rubbing her body against the mineral rich earth.
In this incredible video, witness the playful exchange between Lek and ThongAe, as they engage in a game of hide and seek. The joy and innocence radiating from these incredible creatures is nothing short of magical.
As they play, ThongAe spots a branch drifting downstream and nudges her ‘sister’ and grannies, Pikun and Khun Yai, out of harms way with a little conversation as they go.
As FaaMai grew, the tradition continued and the melodies took on new meaning. Although the lullabies may not serve the same purpose as before, they still bring immense joy to both FaaMai and Lek and continue to strengthen the profound bond they share.
Two watermelons, one pumpkin, and a big hug from our founder Lek Chailert. What more could our sweet girl Fah Mai need!
Earlier this year, baby elephant LekLek and mother MohLoh were rescued from the Omkoi District of Chiang Mai by Save Elephant Foundation. On arrival at Elephant Nature Park, they were introduced to FaaMai’s family but three months have passed and acceptance is not complete.
She is often the critical link of fostering positive bonds between disparate groups of elephants. In this video, FaaMai can be seen bringing several groups together for a joint introduction. Unlike many videos captured by the Save Elephant Foundation Media Team, in which we hear loud conversations and other background sounds, this very natural and peaceful video captures the tranquil atmosphere of the elephant sanctuary.
Whenever the opportunity arises, FaaMai will join with MaeLanna, and SaoYai at the end of the day. FaaMai is a friendly soul, and always non-threatening to whomever she comes into contact – our true elephant Ambassador – whereas SaoYai can be a more challenging subject when it comes to interpersonal relations. But look how these 3 enjoy each other’s company ! They are quite fond of each other, fully content with their time together in the river at Elephant Nature Park.
MuayLek and FaaMai spend a lot of time with the ThongAe family. They have so much fun together. Even after a rain, they go to play in the river.
MuayLek is seeking as to with whom she feels most at home, but she will likely learn from FaaMai, as did ThongAe, that it’s possible to be friends with many at Elephant Nature Park.
MuayLek is enjoying her first mud bath as the monsoon season begins in earnest, granting the mud pit a new life. MuayLek seems nervous to lie down as if she never had opportunity to play in the mud before. ThongAe and FaaMai showed her what to do. Confidence gained, she threw herself into the muddy mess with abandon. A great conversation was had at the end of the play. MuayLek has not been here long, yet she has adjusted very well to the new surroundings at Elephant Nature Park, thanks to the mothering care of FaaMai.
Kanjana and FahMui were delighted to see FaaMai come to join with their afternoon swim, but FaaMai brought 2 companions, ThongAe and MuayLek. Kanjana is very protective of her old friend FahMui, and so she gave the new little girl whom she hadn’t met before, a thorough investigation. MuayLek stayed as close to FaaMai as she possibly could.
