Gratefully, with the kind support from Noelle Weiss, we are able to rescue baby Cha Ba and her mother, Bunma to live with freedom at Elephant Nature Park. Our team made the rescue plan as fast as possible to prepare the night shelter for baby and mother. We asked Mae Sri to share her space with Mae Mai (new) so then we could have the night shelter available for baby Chaba and her mother.

To rescue PenBoon seems a destiny unexpected, to bring her and Aungkham to a happy reunion. Upon arrival in the Park, we observed PenBoon’s reaction, her trunk held high, searching for something. Her excitement was plainly evident with every footstep closer and closer to where AungKham stood. When she walked into her new shelter, AungKham immediately began to speak to her and PenBoon answered back.
She worked as a logging elephant for many years. When that ended, she began work in the trekking camps. Now, the mother and child Wan Mai will live together at Elephant Nature Park.

See him today ! Gluay Hom has a new life. He holds no grudges, and is alive to the kindness that surrounds him. He embraces and squeezes goodness out of every waking moment.

We weighed Gluay Hom this evening. He gaining weight. He now weighs 1080 kilograms. His injuries are improving. His attitude is very positive. He is still under support of care for EEHV. Thanks to those who helping to support Gluay Hom.
His leg is almost back to normal, but the joint is still stiff and he favors that leg. His hind quarters are still weak, and muscle atrophy clear due to lack of exercise for years. That will change with time. We will need take or a walk and bring him to the pool for his leg and body exercise. The swelling is significantly reduced. We’re so pleased with our medical team.
Kanjana was found trapped in a pit during the fire season. She was just a baby and had fallen into it, breaking her ankle and her legs were badly burned from coals that had collected in the hole. Locals heard her cries and pulled her out. Her family was never found and she eventually became a logging elephant in the Pai area, until the days of trekking began. Her early injuries did not make her a good candidate for either logging or service riding, and we took her away from all of that.
His name is ‘Gluay Hom’ or Banana Boy. He had lived in a crocodile farm for years to perform and entertain people. He was tightly chained. He had a bent swollen leg and a wound at his temple. The picture of his plight was published in National Geographic that brought out readers’ attentions to call out for help to release this elephants.
