News from Elephant Nature Park

The unconditional love and care they have for one another is truly something to behold. It’s a privilege to witness these beautiful relationships bloom over time.

Today, as RattanaKham, AuengKham, and HomNuan finished their bath in the river, they started to walk back. However, RattanaKham and AuengKham quickly realized their friend wasn’t with them. They stopped in their tracks, emitting low rumbles and trumpets to HomNuan, who promptly responded to their calls and rushed to her friends’ calls.

The moment the trio reunited, they began touching each other and expressing their joy, as if it were a reunion after many years apart, when in reality, it was just a few short minutes!

Imagine how beautiful the world would be if we all loved like an elephant!

No one can imagine the hardship that they have had to endure – to be taken from their mothers at a tender age and made to work and perform meaningless activities. AuengKham and HomNuan are in generous spirits now, gauging by how warmly they befriended RattanaKham on the night of her arrival.

Mintra demonstrates how to herd cattle at Elephant Nature Park

Mintra, a veteran cow herder, demonstrates to Kratae, a novice, just how to move cows effectively! Oftentimes, a large group of cows not under the care of Elephant Nature Park, will drift along the opposite side of the river grazing peacefully. This hasn’t sat well with many of our elephants, with Mintra being the one most incensed by these interlopers onto what she deems her turf.
